Although some batteries come with a strap to help you lift them, other brands do not. If your car battery does not have a strap, consider buying a battery carrier. Notably, a battery carrier features teethed jaws secured to a vinyl strap. For efficiency, use the jaws to grip the sides of a battery and lift the cell to tighten the hold. The best part about a battery carrier is that the vinyl straps are resistant to acids and excellent insulators. Therefore, you do not have to worry about a battery carrier conducting electricity.

Battery Terminal Brush

A battery terminal brush is another must-have tool for routine maintenance. Notably, car battery terminals experience a build-up of a blue-white crust over time. The white powder is usually zinc sulphate or lead sulphate crystals that form on the terminals when a battery is not charged correctly. The process is referred to as sulfation, and the residue prevents the proper transfer of electric energy between the clamps and battery terminals. Unfortunately, sulfation presents a significant problem when compared to corrosion. A brush is excellent at removing the whitish deposit on battery clamps and the terminals.

Battery Post Wrench

The connection between a terminal post and a cable clamp must be solid for a car battery to work correctly. Your car experiences an erratic electric power supply if the link is loose. It is the reason you need a battery post wrench to help you remove the nuts holding battery clamps in place. Be sure to pick the correct wrench size based on the clamp nuts on your car battery. Working with a wrong-sized wrench strips the nuts, making it difficult to tighten them. Therefore, knowing the size of your car battery terminal nuts helps select the correct wrench size.
